If you’re looking for a new gig in 2026, a new report says the best place to be is . . . not quite in Phoenix.
Four cities AROUND Phoenix made the Top 30 in “Wallet Hub’s” new ranking. Phoenix itself ranked 72nd.
They looked at things like job opportunities, starting salaries, and unemployment rates. Also, commute times and job satisfaction. Here are the top five:
1. Scottsdale, Arizona. Chandler, Gilbert, and Tempe are also right next to Phoenix. Chandler, 14th . . . Gilbert 28th . . . and Tempe, 30th.
2. Columbia, Maryland. Between Baltimore and D.C.
3. Portland, Maine. Portland, Oregon ranked 83rd.
4. South Burlington, Vermont. You might meet Bernie Sanders.
5. Pittsburgh. It ranked first in job opportunities. Google and Apple have offices. Duolingo and Dick’s Sporting Goods are headquartered there.
The rest of the Top 10 are Orlando . . . Plano, Texas . . . Washington, D.C. . . . Austin, Texas . . . and Huntsville, Alabama.
